The ENVE SES 5.6 wheelset is a rim brake wheelset that has been designed to meet the demands of the worlds best road racers and triathletes. The wheelset has a peerless combination of aerodynamic performance, lightweight design, crosswind stability, increased comfort and incredible stopping power.

An evolution of ENVEs proven SES 4.5 design, the SES 5.6 utilises the brands latest technologies to increase depth and improve aerodynamics for a wheelset thats not only faster than its predecessor, but also more stable and confidence inspiring in challenging wind conditions. All this while adding just 44g to the weight of the SES 4.5.

Utilising in-frame aero development at the Mercedes AMG Petronas wind tunnel, the SES 5.6 has been also been tested and proven at the Tour de France by Team Dimension Data, adding real-world performance validation at the sports highest level.

In keeping with the rest of the SES range, the 5.6 derives its name from its rim depths “ 54mm at the front and 63mm at the rear. Each wheel features patented dissimilar SES rim geometries that favour the airflow at the front and back of the bike respectively. The wider front rim aids crosswind stability while the narrower rear rim improves overall airflow attachment for improved aerodynamics.

For the rim brake rider looking for uncompromised braking performance, theres nothing better than ENVEs full carbon moulded brake track. This textured surface with high temperature resistance achieves exceptional stopping power and equal performance in wet and dry conditions. Braking force at the levers is also decreased by 30% compared to the previous generation brake track, allowing you to control speed with confidence through the tightest switchbacks.

Unlike the SES 4.5, the clincher version of the SES 5.6 also benefits from advances in road tyre and frame technologies to add user-friendly tubeless compatibility optimised for 25mm tyres. This means real-world gains in rolling resistance, comfort, traction and reduced chances of flats.

The bespoke construction process utilises rim-specific carbon laminates, moulded spoke holes, removable bladders, and a gorgeous paint-free finish to reduce weight while maintaining strength, stiffness and allowing the beautiful handmade quality to shine through.

All Saddleback-supplied wheelsets are built with black Chris King R45 hubs with steel bearings and Sapim CX-Ray spokes unless stated otherwise.
