- The R5ca is what happens when you take some of the leading engineers from inside and outside the cycle industry, and put them to work on the age-old problem: how to provide the best balance of strength, lightweight, stiffness, and comfort in a cycle frame - With no requirement to be limited by what has gone before, the Project California team were able to look afresh at every aspect of frame design - and then build the result - The BBright-optimised frame works together with BBright-compatible cranks to give the stiffest system available; the frame comes complete with Rotor BBright 172.5 mm cranks and bearings - A new size of steerer tube offers the best balance of torsional stiffness, weight, and comfort, tapering from 1-1/8 to 1-3/8 inches - Other changes include improvements to the seat tube clamp, the rear derailleur hanger, the front derailleur mount, and the cable routing - The latest R-series frames refine Cervelo's concept of 'Stack and Reach' to give the perfect geometry, with the result that every male and female rider in the Cervelo Test Teams fits a standard frame perfectly - Supplied with a Cervelo FK30SL fork, 3T Dorico Ltd in-line seatpin, and integrated headset - No other frame has gone as far in pushing the envelope in frame design and manufacturing
